OPT & OPT STEM Extension Reporting
As a student on OPT/STEM OPT, you are required to report to us when certain events occur. Login to your ISSS Connect portal to complete this requirement. CIE will use this information to make updates to SEVIS that are mandated by law. Please note this is required even if you are using the SEVIS student portal.
Note: Students on OPT who do not have access to login to the ISSS Connect portal need to email firstname.lastname@example.org for further instructions.
Required Reporting Events
To report any of these, you must login to ISSS Connect and navigate to the Documents & Requests section where these reporting items are located.
- Receipt of EAD Card
- New Employment
- Completion of a Job
- Legal Name Change
- Address Change
- All address changes must be made by logging into your PAWS account and updating your "Mailing" address there.
- Your US address must be your PAWS "Mailing" address in and your PAWS "Home" address should always be your home country address.
- STEM OPT Students: STEM OPT Data Validation Reports (Check-ins), as listed on the STEM OPT Reporting page
- STEM OPT Students: Material Changes of the Current I-983 (email OPT@uwm.edu for information on this report)
