OPT Reporting

As a student on OPT/STEM OPT, you are required to report to us when certain events occur. Use the options below to complete this requirement. CIE will use this information to make updates to SEVIS that are mandated by law. Please note this is required even if you are using the SEVIS student portal.

Note: Students on OPT who graduated Summer 2019 or earlier do not have access to login to the ISSS Connect portal; you need to complete your OPT Reporting through the following link:

If the name on your I-20 is incorrect or you have legally changed your name, you can request an updated I-20.

You are required to report any address changes within 10 days of the change. All address changes must be done by logging into your PAWS account and updating your address there. Your US address should be your "Mailing" address in PAWS and your "Home" address should always be the address in your home country. 
You can upload a copy of your Employment Authorization (EAD) card by logging in, going to your User Home Page and navigating to your SEVIS-Processed Optional Practical Training or STEM OPT Extension record.
If you are working for your first employer or have switched to a new employer, you are required to report this information.

Students on STEM OPT are required to submit a check-in every 6 months.

To report Material Changes to your I-983, email for further instructions. 
You can report the end of employment by logging in, going to your User Home Page and navigating to your SEVIS-Processed OPT Employment Update record for the employer.
If you no longer plan to use your OPT because you are returning home, starting a new program of study or changed status, please request for your OPT to be cancelled.
