Arrival Check-In
Upon arrival to UWM all new international students must complete a mandatory arrival check-in. This process verifies all of your F-1 documents and collects the information ISSS needs to report your arrival in SEVIS. Check-in must be completed by the start of the term. Students with Regular Admission

Students with Regular Admission

You will have access to the Arrival Check-In record in your ISSS Connect portal 30 days prior to the Program Start Date listed on your I-20. After arrival to the U.S., you must complete the ISSS Connect Arrival Check-In record.
To complete the Arrival Check-In record, you will need to have the following documents and information ready:

To complete the Arrival Check-In record, you will need to have the following documents and information ready:
- Your UWM I-20
- Your passport with F-1 visa
- Your electronic I-94 record
- Your current US address
- A name and phone number for an emergency contact
- You will not complete the steps above.
- Within 3 days of your arrival in Milwaukee you should complete Arrival Check-In at the UWM Intensive English Program (Curtin Hall 672). Please bring your passport and I-20. If you are a sponsored student, please bring your financial guarantee letter. This is Required.
Graduate Students with Regular Admission

- In addition to the steps above, you must also check-in at the UWM English as a Second Language Programs (Curtin Hall 672).
Teaching Assistants:
- Note: You may need to take the MITAA. If you are unsure whether you need to take the MITAA, please check with your academic department or the ESL Programs Office (esl@uwm.edu).
Students with Conditional Admission:
- You will not complete the steps above.
