Come In-Person

UWM is planning to have a normal, in-person semester for fall 2021.  There will be options for some hybrid and online courses, but many courses will be offered in-person.

The US government has not issued guidance for the fall semester yet. Until more information comes, we are assuming the enrollment requirements will return to the pre-pandemic rules.  Students in the US on an F1 or J1 visa are required to be enrolled full-time.  Only one online course can count towards that full-time amount.  The rest must be in-person.
            Enrollment requirements:
Undergraduate (bachelors) students: at least 12 credits total
Graduate (masters and PhD) students: at least 8 credits total
Graduate (masters and PHD) students with an assistantship: at least 6 credits total

You can see the course format in the description of the course in the Schedule of Classes.

Courses that meet in-person will ensure the safety of all students, staff and faculty.  You may be required to maintain distance from others and wear a mask.  Classrooms will be limited in the number of students allowed in any physical space and classes will likely be a mix of in-person and online activity.

Students that want to live on-campus should submit a Housing Contract as soon as possible.  On-campus housing will be limited, and you should reserve your room now.

You must be at UWM by the first day of classes, September 2, 2021.  If you cannot, your choices are:
1. Start online from home.
2. Defer your admission to Spring 2022 or Fall 2022.
